Borrowing Equipment
Crutches and Wheelchairs
We have a small stock of equipment that may be borrowed in an emergency. Please ask us before borrowing this equipment as we need to record who has borrowed it and for how long. We also ask that you consider making a donation to the Professor Charles Saint Medical Trust of £10 for the loan of equipment. You can do this by enclosing the donation in an envelope marked with your name, the date and the equipment borrowed. Please place this in the metal box in the conservatory.
Blood Pressure Monitoring
For monitoring of your own blood pressure in the long term, you may wish to purchase a machine. Many people prefer to monitor their blood pressure at home and send the information to the surgery when they request their repeat prescription. It is important that the machine you are using is reasonably accurate. If you would like to compare your measurements with those from the machine at the surgery, please book a consultation with the doctor and bring your machine with you. Please see the British Hypertension Society website and follow the link to 'blood pressure monitors' to see updated lists of suitable monitors. There is also information there on how to measure blood pressure and recommendations on diet and salt intake.
