About Us
The Medical Centre in Sark is home to the Sark Medical Officer Dr Peter Counsell. It is located opposite the New Island Hall.
Dr Counsell is assisted by Mrs Fiona Hamon whose roles include reception work, dispensing and accounting.
Mrs Shannon Counsell is a Registered Nurse whose skills are used in wound care and immunisations.Dr Counsell first trained at St George's Hospital Medical School in London and completed his General Practice training in Salisbury, Wiltshire. He moved with his wife and son to Sark in May 2008, taking over from Dr Frank Teunisse.
Dr Teunisse worked on Sark for three and a half years and was responsible for introducing first aid training and a great many improvements to the organisation and running of the practice. He now lives on the Isle of Islay with his wife and cats.
